Kia ora,
Thank you for taking the time to look around my site.
I am Artur – or Art, Brazilian/New Zealander humanitarian, commercial and documentary photographer currently based in Europe.
I have been photographing professionally for more than 8 years and have completed a number of challenging (and fun!) projects all over the world – from documenting humanitarian and development programmes in difficult and remote conditions in Burundi, DR Congo and Zambia, to helping IT and construction companies create a deeper connection with their audiences in Aotearoa New Zealand.
I am naturally drawn to storytelling assignments but am also happy in commercial shoots. My candid, natural and expressive style focuses on the stories of those I am photographing and the message I am communicating. I prefer to let the people and the story take their course but I am not afraid to take charge and direct when needed.
I have a lot of experience working in the development sector which has given me a unique understanding of the communication, ethical and safeguarding needs of international NGOs. This, paired with my strong work ethic and a high degree of technical skills help me maintain a warm and positive attitude in the sensitive and multicultural environments where I often work.
As well as making images, I am also experienced in producing shoots and planning, delivereing and  facilitating photography workshops catered to specific audiences and needs.
I am a member of Brain Hug Creative and Fairshots.
