In October 2016, I travelled to Thailand to photograph Oxfam’s Wanita gender and youth programme in Pattani and document the rampant inequality in Bangkok for their Even it Up campaign.
Although my own upbringing in Brazil taught me from an early age that those who have the least are often the ones who give the most, I was humbled to witness it once again amongst the beautiful and brave smiles of the strong women I photographed.
